Weirdo brand was launched on a pissing rain day in the winter of
2006 at the Long Beach motorcycle swap meet by the husband and wife team of Scott and Lesley Holmes. The inventory of the day consisted of two boxes of Beefy-T Hanes shirts hand screened in an east L.A. garage with plastisol ink: one box of white short sleeve and one box of black long sleeve. At the end of the day we threw away the empty boxes, packed up our booth and headed home to dedicate the next two years to developing the Weirdo brand.

Born and bred in Southern California in the city of San Pedro, Scott has had a life long passion for both cars and bikes and has dedicated his art and life to the culture of speed. Weirdo brand is an extension of that passion. Each piece in the collection is carefully crafted with a high attention to detail and final finish. Each seam is as important to us as the smallest piece of chrome is to the custom hot rod builder. All of the pieces in the collection are cut and sewn from original designs. Each shirt is carefully selected for its softness and fit, and durability. All pieces are hand dyed and hand screened using a combination of water based and plastisol inks. We have made the decision to use
plastisol because it has the proper look to best represent our designs as well as adding a nice heavy weight to our garments. We actually wear this stuff so it better be good and it better perform.

All of the art is created by hand with ink and brush on paper. The art is then scanned and cleaned up for re-production but never made into clean vector lines or "fixed" in the computer. The art stays hand made and transferred faithfully to the garment. We treat each shirt like a piece of art, and sacrifice nothing in our efforts to deliver it to you the same way. Weirdo clothes are ever evolving based on the art and not on fleeting trends.

Every piece in the collection is of a limited edition and is retired after each season. Sometimes a design may re-appear but never in the
same color and ink combination of the past. We are currently focused on keeping our number of products limited so we can ensure true garments that reflect the art and our own personal pride. We leave open the possibility of expanding our product line in the future as long as quality and attention to our customer base is not compromised.
